The Big Challenge
We launched the Big Challenge - an internal employee programme - following our support for mountaineer Matthew Dieumegard-Thornton who became one of the youngest Britons to climb Mount Everest in May 2012.
The Big Challenge is a global CSR initiative that encourages our people from across all our regions to tell us about the remarkable things they are doing in their communities and stand the chance of having their ‘big challenge’ supported by our business.
In 2012 we had 76 entries, which were shortlisted to 14 entries by our regional CEOs and the final four were chosen by Mike Pocock, hibu CEO.
The chosen entries demonstrated spirit, drive and leadership, characteristics integral to success and the cornerstone of a responsible and sustainable organisation. All our people are encouraged to celebrate and support the chosen Big Challenges to help make each of them a success.
The chosen Big Challenge 2012 entries are below, along with their most recent updates.
